Maithil Brahmins are among the most ancient and original of Vedic Brahmins who still follow rites and rituals prescribed in the Vedas. This is a comparatively small community of highly cohesive and gentle but fiercly traditional and proud Brahmins who lived in the ancient kigdom of legendary King Janak of Mithila.
Maithil Brahmins are seekers of knowledge and possess purest of the pure minds. They love fish, Choora-dahi, Mangoes and lots of discussions on any subject of the universe.
They are addressed as mBrahms among their own community.
mBrahm men prefer traditional dress of Dhoti, kurta & paag (a kind of headgear) & their women prefer sarees worn in a typical maithil way.
Beause of their higher purity level and simplicity they are liable to be coned & duped once. Thus the political establishment has constantly neglected the community.
Calling all mBrahms to galvanize themselves as nucleus of some activity, come together and organise ourselves.
